Yangon to Kolkata flights from tomorrow

Myanmar Airways International (MAI) has announced the commencement of its new service from Yangon to from tomorrow.

MAI will operate its twice a week service between Yangon and using Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft, a release issued by the Airlines today said.



The MAI, was founded in 1993 as a joint venture company between Myanmar Airways and based company, it said.

Effective from January 2014, the MAI is the 100 per cent complete member of Kanbawza (KBZ) Group of Companies, Myanmar National owned private company, the release stated.

MAI has code share agreement with Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Airlines and Garuda Indonesia and currently flies between Yangon and Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Gaya, Guangzhou, and between Mandalay and Bangkok, it said.

MAI is the only recipient in Myanmar of the IATA Operational Safety Audit Program (IOSA) Operator, the release said.
