Global markets: European shares start third quarter firmer, dollar gains

By Nigel StephensonLONDON (Reuters) - European shares kicked off the new quarter with solid gains as talk of higher interest rates boosted banks, while the dollar rose from nine-month lows as U.S. Treasury yields hit their highest since mid-May.
