Steel Mills To Go On Strike

The All-India Steel Re-rollers Association (AISRA) has called an indefinite nationwide strike from August 1 to protest against the hike in excise duty. Anil Suri, general secretary of yesterday said that if the government failed to accept the demand for lowering the excise duty by July 31, all the 2,600 re-rolling mills would launch an indefinite strike.
