Sunil Manglore, the recently appointed vice-president of Nasdaq listed CA’s India operations, brings to the company a body of experience in technology and business that spans 20 some years

Manglore will report to Lionel Lim, president and general manager of Asia Pacific, CA Technologies. His charter includes optimising sales coverage, winning new customers, building the partner ecosystem, and managing the operations.

One of the earliest influences on Manglore’s life has been his father’s. A director with the Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council, his father wanted him to learn technology and business, and pushed him towards that goal. “He always felt that to be successful in life you must be a well-rounded personality with technical skills and a business orientation which would help you become a leader and grow faster in your chosen career,” said Manglore.

Consequently, he holds a BE (electronics and communication) degree from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore and an MBA from IIM, Calcutta.

Manglore started his career in Godrej and Boyce in the office equipment division (1991-1995), that became a good learning school for sales management and technology product selling. He then moved to Sprint RPG under the profile of a product head (1995 -2000). Sprint RPG had a joint venture with Datacraft which eventually broke off, with the latter coming into India on its own. Manglore became Datacraft’s CEO in August 2005.

Manglore is an avid reader, with Kaplan and Norton’s Strategy Maps having inspired him the most. He loves photography and travelling with his family.
