HP launches new notebooks

Computer and printing products company, HP, expanded its notebook portfolio with the launch of new Ultrabooks and Sleekbooks in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The new range of thin and light notebooks have been designed for performance, engineered for entertainment and built to deliver, according to Vinay Awasthi, senior director (products and marketing), HP India.

Andhra Pradesh currently contributes about 6.4 per cent to the company’s business in south, which accounts for 28.2 per cent of its business in India, Ranjivit Singh, chief marketing officer, HP India, said in a press release. “We see strong potential in this market and intend to grow our business multi-fold this year, where our new thin and light range will play a significant role,” he said.

The company claims that its market share in India has gone up to 14.9 per cent and grew 23.1 per cent in the first quarter of the current financial year, as compared to the overall PC client market growth of 7.7 per cent during the same period.
