Tata Investment Corporation Ltd and Investa Ltd have decided to merge. The decision has been taken by the board of directors of the two companies. The effective date of the merger will be April 1, 1998, according to a statement by the Tatas. The shareholders of Investa Ltd will receive one share of Tata investment for every five shares of Investa. Tata Investment presently holds about 86 per cent of the share capital of Investa Ltd.
