Alps Infosys Limited (previously know as Alps Data Products) was incorporated as a private limited company in Mar.'95 and was subsequently converted into a public limited company in Jul.'95. The company was originally incorporated as a partnership firm in 1988, whose business was transferred to the newly formed private limited company in Mar.'95. The company was promoted by Mukesh Patel. The name of the company has been changed to Alps Infosys Ltd., w.e.f. 30.03.1999.
The company has acquired the business of manufacturing computer printer cassettes, instant refill packs, business consumables and computer furniture. In 1995-96, it undertook an expansion-cum-backward integration project to have an installed capacity of 17 lac pcs pa of printer ribbon cassettes; 8.5 lac pcs pa of printed refill pack; in-house ink manufacturing capacity of 13,000 ltr pa and computer furniture manufacturing capacity of 18,000 pcs pa.
In Apr.'96, the company came out with a public issue of 30,50,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each for cash at par aggregating Rs 305 lac, to part-finance its expansion-cum-backward integration project. During the year 1999, the company diversified into software business and earned an income of Rs.7.60 lacs.
During the year 1999-2000, to cope with the growing demand of software as well as expansion plan, the company has made preferential issue of equity shares twice to raise funds.
