Apple Finance Ltd. (APPLEIND) - Company History

Promoted by Atul Nishar, Apple Finance major business areas include financial services and information technology. Its financial services activities include corporate finance, consumer finance, trade finance and investment banking. The company is a category-I merchant banker and is a member of the OTCEI and the National Stock Exchange. Recently, it obtained the approval from SEBI to sponsor a mutual fund and has set up an asset management company. Aptech, the information technology division of the company, is a leader in computer education, corporate consultancy, training resources and has tie-ups with NCC, UK, and Pace University, New York. Aptech is the first institution in the country to have been awarded the ISO 9001 certification for their educational support services. Apple Finance is setting up a 100% EOU for mining granite in Andhra Pradesh. AIL's other expansion-cum-diversification programmes are to enter into hire-purchase operations in the transport sector, open new centres and upgrade the technology of existing computer centres, and invest in hardware facilities for export-related earnings in software and information technology. It also plans to set up an insurance company and a bank in the private sector. On the retail side, the Joint Venture Company started with Whirlpool for its manufacturer sponsored programmed operates through 37 branches and has presence in 3,500 retail outlets across the country in the year 1999-2000 and has got tie-ups with LG, Godrej, Phillips, Panasonic, Daewoo, Thomson, Onida, etc. The company is in discussions with the Banks and Financial Institutions for one-time settlement.
