1996 ASIA PACIFIC INVESTMENT TRUST LIMITED AUDITORS' REPORT We have audited the attached Balance Sheet of ASIA PACIFIC INVESTMENT TRUST LIMITED, as at 30th June, 1996 and the Profit and Loss Account for the year ended on that date annexed thereto and report that: We report that : a) We have obtained all the information and explanations which, to the best of our knowledge and belief, were necessary for the purpose of our audit. b) In our opinion, proper books of account, as required by law, have been kept by the company so far as appears from our examination of such books. c) The Balance Sheet and the Profit and Loss Account referred to in this Report are in agreement with the books of account. d) i) As stated in Note No. 8 of schedule 13, regarding shortfall in realisation of hire purchase, lease debtors, other receivables and receivables under Loans and Advances. ii) As stated in note No.9 of schedule No.13 regarding reconciliation of certain bank accounts and business related accounts. iii) As stated in note No.7 of schedule No.13 regarding provision for diminution in the value of investments in equity shares. Pending reconciliation, finalisation and determination of the work stated above. We are unable to express an opinion on the quantum thereof and the impact on Profit for the year. e) Subject to the above,in our opinion and to the best of our information and according to the explanations given to us, the Balance Sheet and the Profit and Loss Account, read with Notes on accounts, give the information required by the Companies Act, 1956, in the manner so required and give a true and fair view: 1) In so far as it relates to the Balance Sheet, of the state of affairs of the Company as at 30th June, 1996 and 2) In so far as it relates to the Profit and Loss Account, of the Profit of the Company for the year ended on that date. for M.
