Compudyne Winfosystems Ltd. (COMPUDYNE) - Company History

Incorporated on 10th November, 1994, in the name of Compudyne Winfosys Private Ltd and subsequently changed its name to Compudyne Winfosys Ltd (CWL) on 1st November, 1995. The company is engaged in customised software development and services, system integration & networking, consultancy, multimedia, imaging and individual & corporate training in software. It has now been re-christened Compudyne Winfosystems Ltd. In June '99 Company came out with an IPO of 1.92mn Shares of Rs.10/- each at par aggregating Rs.19.20mn primarily to fund utilised its expansion plan in the Technology Park in Bangalore, also plan to utilised to set up overseas marketing outfit and purchasing a premise for its development centre in Bangalore. CWL's strength lie in internet software development and multimedia apart from normal software re-engineering and conversion services. Company has its four division ie. 1) WINFONET - for Internet Solution 2) WONDERS ONLINE - relates with Multimedia & Virtual reality, Kiosk designs, CAD/CAM, Web page designing 3) WINFODYNE - relates with software development, re-engineering and integration & 4) GATES ACADEMY - relates with Training & Reserch Centre for E.commerce, EDI & Multimedia. CWL has designed the Kiosk presentation for Novartis Corporation and NCR Corporation, USA. It is also developing the kiosk machine software for KAL Inc, of USA. CWL is the only Indian software developer company which member of Softopia Japan Foundation. WinfoNet (Internet Solution Division) provides application architecture and database design/developments, and E.Commerce strategy to its clients. CWL has handled major porject for its clients like Koyo Shoping Mall (Japan), Tagassago Steel (Japan) & Delicasuito (Japan). The company has completed the acquisition of the business assets and Los angeles based VFX Studio of Visual Art Design & Animation Inc., USA a wholly owned subsidiary of Santa Monica Studios that produces visual effects for all major Hollywood Studios. The unit is renamed as Digital Art Media. The company will be retaining the 8500 sq.ft. studio in addition to acquiring another 3500 sq.ft. Further the company has also acquired multimedia assets of Santa Monica Studio of Los Angeles for a total consideration of $ 4 Million against issue of 5,68,485 equity shares of Rs 10/- each at a premium of Rs 155. It is aggressively concentrating on emerging technologies such as Broadband, Convergence, Media, CAD/CAM/CAE and Re-engineering. It now has overseas offices in California, Florida, New Jersey in US and Softopia, Tokyo in Japan, France and Germany in Europe.
