Incorporated as a private limited company in Oct.'89, Lloyd Rock Fibres was converted into a public limited company on 27 Dec.'93. It was promoted by R P Punj and his assoicates. Later on Gaurav Punj joined as promoter of the company's project.
The company is engaged in the business of manufcturing rockwool mineralwool matresses, slabs and pipe sections. The unit in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, has an installed capacity of 7500 tpa. Commercial production commenced on 1 Jul.'94.
The products manufactured by the company are applied in industries like petrochemicals, steel, sugar, chemicals, fertilisers and thermal power projects. It came out with a public issue in Dec.'95 to implement the project for maximising its capacity utilisation with value-added production and installation of cost effective energy conservation equipments; to part-finance for contracting business and vendors unit development and to augment the long-term working capital requirement.
The company received the single largest product sale order for Rockwool products in the history of Indian Insulation industry from Reliance Petroleum for its grass root refinery project at Jamnagar. Besides RPL, other clients are Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Bongaigaon Refineries & Petrochemicals Ltd, Mangalore Refineries & Petrochemicals Ltd, Fertilizers Corporation of India, Gas Authority of India, Bharat Heavy Electricals etc.
