Incorporated in 1991, NEPC Agro Foods (NAFL) was promoted by the NEPC group. NAFL entered the consumer product market with the Trupthi brand, with installed capacities of 30,000 tpa for hygienically packed wheat products (atta, maida and sooji) and 30,000 tpa for industrial and iodised salts. Currently, apart from the products mentioned above, NAFL also markets tea manufactured by its associate concern, NEPC Tea Garden.
NAFL has signed a technical consultancy agreement with the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI). Its products carry the Agmark certification too.
It is now embarking upon an expansion-cum-diversification programme. It is setting up a new manufacturing unit (inst. cap.: 30,000 tpa) for wheat products at Vittalghat, Gujarat.
The company is increasing the capacity of its existing units as well as creating additional units to meet the increasing demand. It has established modern flour mills (cost : Rs 60 cr) in Delhi, Kanpur and Hyderabad, each with a production capacity of 200 tpd.
NAFL is increasing the production capacity from 1 lac tpa to 5 lac tpa. The mineral water production capacity is being increased from 1 lac ltr pd to 3 lac ltr pd (cost : Rs 20 cr). NAFL also plans to set up a modern salt refinery in Ahmedabad.
