ORG Informatics Ltd. (ORGINFO) - Company History

ORG Informatics Ltd is a system integrator with interests in information technology, telecom and geographical information system. The company is aged in the business of Systems Integration Satellite Communication Services and Telecom. ORG operates in India, the United States, Singapore and Afghanistan. Their customers include corporations, financial institutions, telecoms and governments. The ISO 9001:2000 certified company offers system integration and managed services in billing and open source solutions, code division multiple access, IPTV, VOIP and other areas. Software solutions are offered involving next generation mobile and SMS banking, voice and IP platforms, telecom self services, and mobile content like ring tones, graphics, games, videos and movies. The company has four wholly owned subsidiary companies namely, ORG Telecom Ltd., Unified Technologies Pvt. Ltd., ORG Singapore Pte Ltd (formally known as DGIT Solutions Pte Ltd, Singapore) and Belgium Satellite Services SA (Belgium). ORG Informatics Ltd was incorporated in the year 1976 as a public limited company with the name Sarabhai Electronics Ltd. The company was setup by Dr Vikram Sarabhai. During the year 1993-94, the company formed a Joint Venture with eHuset A/S, Denmark (formerly known as Dansk Data Electronik A/S) by transferring their electronic division (ORG Systems) as a going concern. In December 5, 2005, the company incorporated a 100% subsidiary company namely ORG Telecom Ltd. The company transferred the telecom engineering business of the company to their wholly owned subsidiary, ORG Telecom Ltd and in March 26, 2004, they entered into an agreement with ORG Telecom Ltd for the sale of technical know-how. During the year 2004-05, the company received major overseas orders and one big order from Telecommunication Consultants of India Ltd as a part of BSNL NIB-II project. In March 2006, they secured purchase orders for Rs 2550 million from Bharat Electronics Ltd for supply, installation and commissioning of Convergant Billing system in MTNL. During the year 2006-07, the company expanded their operations to Tanzania, Nigeria and DTN DTH (Direct To Home) business in Europe. ORG Telecom Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary company incorporated two subsidiaries in RAKFTZ, UAE and in USA. In January 2007, the company acquired 100% shareholding in a Singapore based company namely 'DGIT Solutions Pte Ltd'. In February 2007, they acquired a Bangalore based IT company namely Unified Technologies Pvt Ltd and made it as a wholly owned subsidiary company. During the year 2007-08, the company acquired the running Satellite Communication Business of Belgacom, SA, Belgium by incorporating a wholly owned subsidiary company Belgium Satellite Services SA under the law of Belgium on October 2007. In July 2008, the company got two orders worth Rs 983.6 million from Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. In August 2008, they secured an order worth of Rs 78.06 crores from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd for supply, installation, integration and commissioning of SATCOM-N/M Equipment for Indian Air Force. In March 2009, the company secured an order worth of Rs19.70 crores from I T Department, Government of Meghalaya for implementation of Meghalaya State Wide Area Network (MSWAN). In January 2010, they secured an order for Rs 14.05 crores from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, for supply, installation, integration and commissioning of Satcom Network for IAF.
