Sonu Synthetics (SSL) was incorporated in Jan.'86, and belongs to the Santogen group. Ghanshyamdas Deora is the Chairman, Rajendrakumar Deora is the Managing Director. In Oct.'88, the company came out with a Rs 65-lac public issue to part-finance a Rs 2.93-cr project at Murbad. The company manufactures and markets synthetic fabrics and blended yarn under the Cekowa brand which is very popular. The manufacturing units are located in Silvassa and Murbad (Thane district). In 1994, it had set up a new export-oriented facility at Silvassa for spinning. During 1997-98, the company has achieved spindlage capacity of 31104 spindles. The performance of the company is affected by the recessionary trend and liquidity crunch prevailing in the Textile trade and industry and hence during 2001, the company could not generate enough profit. |
