Pankaj Mohindroo's enthusiasm for books transcends a variety of genres.
An inventory of books sits silently among i-mate chairman Pankaj Mohindroo’s belongings. When he is able to snatch some leisure time out, it is this inventor that keeps him engrossed. For someone who is constantly on the move, surprisingly, it takes a hardbound thriller, biography, management or history tome to help him relax. Such is his passion for books that it takes more than one favourite to satiate him.
“It’s difficult to mention any single book,” he says, and goes on to list
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, Gone with the Wind
by Margaret Mitchell,
Day of the Jackal
by Frederick Forsyth and
The Chamber
by John Grisham among his best reads.

Mohindroo finds himself flooded with a passion to survive and fight for a bright new day each time he flips through the pages of
War and Peace and Gone with the Wind
. “Different genres keep me intact, occupied and informed about things happening around me and all of it rejuvenates me,” he remarks.
Despite having to read in between journeys, Mohindroo proudly informs us of a library at home that houses a collection of books that date back to his teenage days and... most of those books have been read from cover to cover. “In rare cases, if I find a book boring or uninteresting, I only glance through some of its pages,” he reveals. On principle, Mohindroo doesn’t pick up a book for its looks unless it’s for his coffee table. So, while he makes sure he gets his hands on every book penned by his favourite authors, the others are judged mainly by their reviews and word of mouth.
