Pune’s leading Integrated Infrastructure Solutions’ provider Synefra Engineering & Construction Ltd – A Tanti Group Company, announced that their One Earth Project, Suzlon’s Global HQ, conceived and managed by them has been awarded the “Green Building of the Year” award at the Property Awards held in Mumbai on 15 December 2010. The Awards are organized every year by United Business Media Ltd - a leading global business media company.
The award was handed over to Suzlon by the chief guest of the evening, honorable Mr. PK Basu, who is among the top five Asian economists. A collegium consisting of 64 eminent personalities from real estate industry decided the winners of the Property Awards 2010 in a democratic process and were chosen for their industry standing, integrity and thought leadership.
Developed in an area of 41,000 sq.mtr (10.13 acres), One Earth, one of the largest green building projects in the India with a built up of over 8,00,000 sq ft. Synefra has set benchmarks for energy and water efficiency with incorporating innovative aspects of engineering and construction. The accolade has been conferred to One Earth for its whole-building approach to sustainability by attaining key areas of human and environmental health, sustainable site development, efficient water, energy and waste methods, materials and resource selection, indoor environmental quality and most important innovation and design processes.
Commenting on the achievement, Mr. JR Tanti, Managing Director, Synefra E&C said, “Synefra prides itself with this recognition. Having already received numerous prestigious award ratings for their flagship project Suzlon One Earth, namely Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification by IGBC which was felicitated at Washington DC by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as well as the 5 Star by Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA), Synefra has achieved another milestone by bagging this award.
