Actuate hosts largest BIRT roadshow to date in Bangalore

Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The people behind BIRT® and the leader in open source Business Intelligence (BI), today announced that the company has hosted its biggest BIRT Roadshow to date, attracting almost 700 people and generating interest from thousands more, in Bangalore, India. BIRT developers congregated at the Vivanta by Taj in Bangalore on August 26th to receive training material, evaluation software licenses and demos. The event was hosted by CEO Pete Cittadini and a team of BIRT experts to serve as an orientation to BIRT, the Eclipse Foundation Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools open source project sponsored by Actuate.

Registrants for the BIRT Roadshow, Bangalore represented-

· Leading global organisations across verticals including:

Alcatel-Lucent, Bank of America, BlackRock, Bosch, Deutsche Bank, FICO, Fidelity, General Electric, Honda, HSBC, Nokia Siemens Networks, Motorola Solutions, PayPal, PNC Bank, Qwest Communications, Sears, Société Générale Group, Sony, SunGard, Target Corp, Texas Instruments and Wells Fargo.

· Leading organisations in India including:

Blue Dart Express Limited, Deccan ENT, Great Eastern Shipping, Indian Army, Indian Oil Corporation, Indian Railways, ICICI Bank and Thomas Cook India.

According to Evans Data Corporation, India has emerged as a model market for BIRT, with almost 40% of the country’s developer population currently using or planning to use the technology in the next 12 months for their BI, reporting and data visualisation requirements.
