Aditi Technologies spots opportunities in Europe
R Raghavendra / Bangalore July 13,2004
As the European market is waking up to realise the benefits of outsourcing, Aditi Technologies, the Bangalore-based offshore service provider that helps companies develop software products is seeing a huge opportunity among European product companies.

Aditi has just begun the penetrate into this market purely based on referrals and has deployed 20 per cent of its total workforce only to handle various European accounts.

While Aditi feels India has the right solutions to help product companies in Europe to scale up, European companies are inclined to outsourcing not just for the benefit of cost but a series of other problems that does not create a conducive environment to develop products.

According to Romain Axel, founder and CEO, Atsmai Technology, “Besides the cost benefit that outsourcing provides, product companies in Europe are excited about the flexibility that it brings.

“Nearly 40 per cent of the salary in Europe is paid as government tax. We work only for 35 hours in a week. Besides, there is a big recruitment hassle. It is tough to find really talented people and retain them for long-term.”

Atsmai Technologies is a three-year-old technology solutions provider for financial trading companies and stock exchanges.

They have a suite of products called MAI Office which is used widely by the financial trading community in Europe.

This suite of products of Atsmai is being designed and developed by Aditi Technologies. Aditi employs a team of 18 developers who work exclusively on Atsmai’s products.

At any point of time, clients transact stocks worth several millions of dollars.

The product from Atsmai is in such a sensitive space that any bug in it can bring in a massive loss to the trading houses. It is companies like Atsmai from whom Aditi is penetrating into the European market.

According to Bharat Ahluwalia, director-Software Product Outsourcing and pharmacy, Aditi Technologies, “The basic reason for product companies in Europe to outsource is the fact that they do not have adequate people. If they need to scale up, then they have to start with India. In fact, some companies even start with teams of just four people in India.”

Product development in India will eventually result in increasing sales in India too. Having understood the quality of Indian IT services, many European companies are also witnessing the robust growth in this sector.

In this process, product companies from Europe are finding potential clients in the Indian market.
