After Dubai, Dr Batra's eyes London
BS Reporter / Mumbai/ Ahmedabad Jul 10, 2009, 00:49 IST

Having begun its foray into international healthcare market with the launch of its clinic at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), Dr Batra’s Positive Health Clinic Private Limited is now eyeing the European market wherein it plans to open a homeopathic clinic in London.

“We are right now looking at properties in London. Once the new Dubai clinic begins functioning, we will soon replicate the model in other countries,” said Mukesh Batra, founder and CMD of Dr Batra’s Positive Health Clinic Private Limited.

Talking about the upcoming clinic in Dubai, which will be formally launched on July 14, 2009, Dr Batra said, “We are all set to rub shoulders with leading global healthcare & wellness giants such as Harvard Medical School, Mayo Clinic, Johnson & Johnson, Boston University, The German Heart Centre, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital, Novartis among others, to deliver a full spectrum of specialised homeopathic treatment in UAE. Within one year from the launch, we expect to generate revenues worth Rs 2.5 crore from the Dubai clinic.”

The clinic, called Dr Batra’s Homeopathic Clinic FZ-LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr Batra’s Positive Health Clinic Private Limited incorporated under the Dubai Healthcare City Company Regulation, 2008. The company had to adhere to strict international quality standards, clinical practices, protocols, SOPs set by DHCC and the Centre for Healthcare Planning and Quality (CPQ), which is the regulatory body implementing rigorous quality clinical standards to ensure patient safety and quality patient care.

Apparently, the new clinic in DHCC, is the first such homeopathic clinic in Middle East, he said.

Dr Batra further added, “We will focus our efforts on strategic awareness and patient education-driven initiatives in the UAE to foster a greater understanding of Homeopathy and its time-tested benefits in curing a multitude of health-related issues especially in stress and lifestyle related diseases.”

Meanwhile, in India, the company plans to set up five more clinics by the end of the financial year 2009-10. Currently, Dr. Batra’s Positive Health Clinic Private Limited runs around 53 such clinics in the country.
