Announcement / Corporate Oct 13, 2009, 21:22 IST

As part of its ongoing Diwali celebrations, Airtel digital TV - the DTH service from Bharti Airtel – today announced the launch of special limited period Diwali Packs for its new customers at Rs. 1750 with no installation cost and a free Language Top Up in either Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil or Telegu. Airtel digital TV also announced that it had taken its bouquet of South Indian channels to 47 by adding 6 more channels - Udaya Varthegalu, Angel TV, Makkal TV, Jaya Max, Shri Venkateshwara Bhakti Channel and Shubhavarta.

Announcing the offer, Mr. V Raviganesh, CEO (DTH) - South Hub, Bharti Airtel, said, “It has been an overwhelming journey for us as Airtel digital TV completes its first anniversary on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. To celebrate the occasion and to thank all our customers for their support and appreciation, we are very pleased to launch our special new Diwali offers and hope to bring in magic in many more homes across the country.”

The limited period Special Diwali Pack for new customers offers:

  • Rs. 1750 with 6 months subscription of South Super Value Pack offering a total of 125 channels including all the Sun channels and premium channels like Star World, National Geographic, NDTV 24*7, Discovery.

Airtel digital TV – the DTH service from Bharti Airtel – is the sole national level DTH service in the country which offers its customers MPEG 4 with DVBS 2 – currently the most advanced digital broadcasting technologies available in the world after HD broadcasting. These two technologies combine the benefits of higher compression with better performance under low signal strength, which enables us to deliver a distinctly clearer picture on our customer’s TV in comparison to any other comparable broadcasting technology. Additionally, Airtel digital TV brings many firsts to the DTH segment in India including a Universal Remote which operates both the Set Top Box and TV set as well as Interactive Applications which give customers the freedom to book movie tickets, travel package and shop for branded products, among others. Users can also access city-specific news and update themselves on the latest stock news. We are also the only one to offer our customers the pleasure of listening to ad-free Worldspace Satellite radio. All this is backed by 24x7 customer care.
