Ambuja Realty ties up with Swissotel

Ambuja Realty today announced its tie-up with Swiss hospitality chain Swissotel for its upcoming five-star business hotel, entailing an investment of Rs 100 crore, at New Town near Kolkata.

Ambuja Realty group Chairman Harsh Neotia said that the 10-year management contract was signed between the Bengal Ambuja Housing Development Pvt Ltd and Swissotel Hotels & Resorts.

The hotel is slated for opening in January, 2010, Neotia said.

He added that 147-keys hotel had been put up on the top of its shopping mall City Centre coming up in the area.

After Salt Lake, this would be the second City Centre slated for opening on September 19.

Neotia said that this would be the first Swissotel in the country, the property of which had been put up by Bengal Ambuja.

He said that Swissotel had the experience of running hotels located atop shopping malls.

Neotia said that the company wished to execute more Swissotel products across the country.

Swissotel Hotels & Resorts Meinhard Huck President said that the Swissotel was a five-star deluxe brand and manages several properties across the globe.

Swissotel was keen to expand its footprint in other cities as well in India, he said.
