Anand Mahindra resigns as Chairman of Mahindra Lifespace

Mahindra Lifespace Developers today said its Chairman Anand Mahindra has resigned from his position and announced the appointment of Arun Nanda as the non-Executive Chairman of the company.
Anand Mahindra has submitted his resignation to the board from the position of the Chairman and a director of the company to take effect from March 15, Mahindra Lifespace said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The board has accepted his resignation. "The board at the same meeting unanimously appointed Arun Nanda as its non-Executive Chairman and of the company with effect from March 15," it said.
Nanda has been the Vice-Chairman of the company since April 2001.
"After a distinguished career of 36 years with the Mahindra Group, Nanda had requested that he be permitted to give up his current responsibilities with effect from April 2010, so that he can pursue his long cherished interest in the social sector," the company said.
Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd is engaged in urban development in the country.
