| Anita Das joins ONGC board |

The government has appointed former bureaucrat Anita Das to the board of state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) as an independent director.
A veteran administrator and a 1972 batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh Cadre, Das retired as Secretary, AYUSH in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in October last year, a company press release said here.
With Das' nomination, the ONGC Board now has 13 members, including seven functional directors (including chairman and managing director) and six non-executive directors.
The six non-executive directors are made up of two part- term government nominee directors and four part-time non-official directors.
Besides, the managing director of ONGC Videsh, the overseas subsidiary of the state-run firm is an invitee to the meetings of the board.
"She (Das) has vast experience in the field of industrial promotion as the additional director and deputy secretary industry and later as principal secretary rural industry at the state level," the release said.
