Arshiya International Ltd. (Arshiya) (BSE: 506074), a global supply chain and logistics infrastructure solutions company, announced consolidated Total Revenue of Rs. 510.21 crore for FY09 as against Rs. 407.44 crore for FY08, an increase of 25%. EBITDA grew 48% to Rs. 85.80 crore in FY09 as compared to Rs. 57.86 crore in FY08, with EBITDA margin rising to 17% for FY09 as compared to 14% in FY08. Consolidated Net Profit stood at Rs. 65.43 crore as against Rs. 45.38 crore last year; registering an increase of 44%.

Commenting on the performance and forward plans of the company, Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Ajay S Mittal said, “Despite Arshiya being no exception to the effects of the global economic slow-down with crashing freight rates & the worst ever drop in international trade, I am happy that Arshiya has done well through this challenging last year, registering a net growth of 25% on top-line and 44% on bottom line as compared to the previous year”.

Mr. Mittal further added “This period of financial turmoil has been good for Arshiya as we have not only had a chance to prove to our customers that integrated supply chain is the future in cost reduction and efficiency but have further been able to tie up critical elements to our foray into logistics infrastructure and prove our differentiation through timely execution in these difficult times. Looking forward, the worst seems to be behind us now and we are seeing more movements from our customers and activities seem to have picked up over the last few weeks. We are hopeful to see a trend upwards in the coming quarters as the market stabilizes.”

Key accomplishments for Arshiya in FY09 include:

  • Crossed the 1,000 clients mark with the supply chain service offerings of International Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Technology.
  • Obtained Formal Approval from the Board of Approval - Ministry of Commerce, Government of India - for both FTWZ’s in JNPT (Sai Village, Maharashtra) & Delhi (Khurja, UP). The notification process of these FTWZs is expected to be completed shortly.
  • Incepted rail operations with Arshiya Rail Infrastructure, servicing Vedanta for its end-to-end India movement while executing agreements with some other marquee customers (Names to be announced soon)
  • Completed tying up of debt for Rail and FTWZ at Sai Village, JNPT with lead Bankers and in final stages of approval for FTWZ at Khurja.
  • Embarked on an aggressive talent acquisition program; especially in terms of executing infrastructure projects, where Arshiya has put together a best-in-class project implementation team of experienced infrastructure development and rail professionals that will execute the timely and cost-effective delivery of its  projects
