| Ashok Leyland March sales down 52.2% |

Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland today reported a fall of 52.2 per cent in commercial vehicle sales at 5,112 units in March this year compared to same month in 2008.
The company had sold 10,696 units in the same month last year.
Domestic sales stood at 4,441 units in March against 9,541 units in corresponding month last year, down by 53.4 per cent, according to the information available on the company's website.
Exports fell by 41.9 per cent to 671 units in the month compared to 1,155 units in the year-ago period.
The company reported a decline of 70.77 per cent in total domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles at 2,346 units from 8,027 units in the same month last year.
However, domestic light commercial vehicles sales dipped marginally to 75 units in March against 79 units in the corresponding period last year.
