Asian markets end down; Nikkei at two-wk closing low

Asian markets ended in the red today.

The Hang Seng dropped 368 points (1.6%) to 21,801. The Nikkei dipped 133 points (1.3%) to a two-week closing low of 10,080.

The Seoul Composite slumped 38 points (2.3%) to 1,611. The Taiwan Weighted dragged 123 points (1.6%) to 7,534.

The Straits Times was down 28 points (1%) at 2,667.

The Shanghai Composite declined 22 points to 2,999.

Technology stocks continue to drag Asian markets today. The Hang Seng has dropped 368 points (1.6%) to 21,800. The Nikkei has tumbled 133 points (1.3%) to 10,079.

The Seoul Composite has shed 38 points (2.3%) to 1,611. The Taiwan Weighted has declined 123 points (1.5%) to 7,534. The Straits Times has slipped 28 points (1%) to 2,667.

The Shanghai Composite is down 22 points at 2,999.

The Asian markets have today opened on a negative note.

The Hang Seng has slipped 173 points or 1% at 21,996. The Nikkei is down 68 points at 10,144.

The Shanghai Composite is marginally down at 3,016.

The Seoul Composite has declined 30 points or 2% at 1,619 and the Straits Times has dropped 21 points or 1% to 2,674.

The Taiwan Weighted Index is flat with a positive bias at 7,657.
