Asian markets end positive; Taiwan Weighted Index advances 2%

The Asian markets ended on a positive note. The Hang Seng advanced 240 points or 1% to 19,790.

The Nikkei was down 0.5% to 9,931.The Shanghai Composite added 0.5% to 2,948.

The Taiwan Weighted Index soared 145 points or 2% to  7,361.

The Straits Times and the Seoul Composite Index increased 1% each.

The Asian markets continue to trade mixed. The Hang Seng is quoting at 19,547, higher by three points, while the Nikkei is quoting at 9,913, weaker by 37 points.

Straits Times is at 2,703, stronger by nine points, Seoul Composite is at 1,557, higher by four points and Taiwan Weighted is at 7,337, up 121  points.

And Shanghai Composite is higher by four points at 2,939.

The Asian markets have opened on a mixed note. The Hang Seng has opened at 19,643, stronger by 92 point or 0.4%, while the Nikkei is quoting at 9,907, weaker by 44 points or 0.4%.

Seoul Composite is at 1,560, higher by 8 points or 0.5%, and the Taiwan Weighted is at 7,309, up 93 points or 1.3%.

And Shanghai Composite is higher by 14 points or 0.4% at 2,949.
