Asian markets end firm; Hang Seng up 2%

The Asian markets have ended on a positive note.

The Hang Seng surged 430 points or 2% to 21,241. The Nikkei advanced 101 points or 1% to 9,799.

The Shanghai Composite added 25 points to 2,779.

The Straits Times increased 23 points to 2,636 and the Taiwan Weighted Index was up 73 points at 7,608.

The Seoul Composite on the other hand ended marginally at 1,598.

Asian markets are mostly up today. The Hang Seng has added 457 points (2.2%) 21,269. The Nikkei has gained 108 points (1%) at 9,799.

The Straits Times has advanced 28 points (1%) to 2,639. The Taiwan Weighted is up 72 points (1%) at 7,609.

However, the Seoul Composite is flat at 1,598.

The Asian markets have opened in the green across the board.

The Hang Seng is quoting at 21,162, higher by 351 points or 1.69% and the Nikkei has gained 86.4 points or 0.8% at 9,778.

Straits Times is  going strong at 2,643, up 31.1 points or 1.1%. The  Seoul Composite has added 6.3 points or 0.3% at 1,604 and the Taiwan Weighted has put on 45.1 points or 0.6% and is currently trading at 7,581.
