Asian markets end in green; Hang Seng gains 2%

Asian markets ended in the green today following big gains in the Wall Street.

The Hang Seng surged 444 points (2.4%) to 18,806. The Nikkei added 51 points to 9,395.

The Straits Times and the Taiwan Weighted moved up 1% each to 2,429 and 6,851, respectively.

The Shanghai Composite and the Seoul Composite were flat at 3,190 and 1,440, respectively.

Asian markets continue to trade in green following better-than-expected earnings report from US companies, even as explosions in two Jakarta hotels dampened sentiments in Indonesia.

The Hang Seng has surged 260 points (1.5%) to 18,622. The Nikkei has added 53 points to 9,398.

The Taiwan Weighted has moved up 76 points (1%) to 6,856.

Meanwhile, the Seoul Composite, the Straits Times and the Shanghai Composite are trading flat.

The Asian stocks have today opened on a positive note.

The Hang Seng has advanced 123 points to 18,485. The Nikkei has added 39 points to 9,383.

The Taiwan Weighted index has moved up 35 points and the Seoul Composite is flat at 1,434, up two points.

On the other hand the Shanghai Composite is down 15 points at 3,169.

The Straits Times is flat at 2,396 , down five points.
