Asian markets end in red

Asian markets ended in the red today.

The Nikkei slipped 57 points to 9,674. The Hang Seng, however, added 54 points to 20,429.

The Seoul Composite shed 38 points (2.2%) to 1,607. The Straits Times dropped six points to 2,599.

Meanwhile, the Taiwan Weighted added 26 points to 7,438.

The Asian stocks moved near three-week lows on Monday after weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs data heightened investor caution ahead of the third-quarter corporate results season.

The Hang Seng is down 35 points at 20,340. The Nikkei has slipped 57 points to 9,675.

The Shanghai Composite has added 25 points at 2,780.

The Straits Times has dropped 79 points (3%) to 2,578 and the Seoul Composite has declined 39 points (2%) to 1,606.

The Taiwan Weighted Index on the other hand is up margianlly at 7,438.

The Asian markets have opened flat.

The Hang Seng is flat at 20,378, Nikkei is quoting at 9,736 and Taiwan is flat at 7,414. However, Straits is down 2.3% or 63 points at 2,594.
