Asian markets pares gains towards the end

The Asian markets pared some of their gains towards the end of the trading session.

The Hang Seng advanced 488 points or 2% to 21,753. The Nikkei soared 144 points or 1.5% to 10,035.

The Shanghai Composite Index added 36 points or 1% to 2,996.

The Straits Times was up 16 points at 2,648.

The Seoul Composite Index and the Taiwan Weighted Index on the other hand were marginally down below 0.5% each at 1,581 and 7,340, respectively.

All the Asian markets barring the Taiwan Weighted Index are moving steady now.

The Hang Seng has soared 637 points or 3% to 21,901. The Nikkei has advanced 137 points or 1% to 10,027.

The Shanghai Composite Index has added 65 points or 2% to 3,026.

The Straits Times is up 39 points or 1.5% at 2,671 and the Seoul Composite Index is marginally up four points at 1,592.

The Taiwan Weighted Index has slipped 16 points to 7,340.

The Asian markets have today opened on an extremely firm note. The Hang Seng has soared 625 points or 3% to 21,889. The Nikkei has advanced 125 points or 1% to 10,015.

The Shanghai Composite has added 53 points or 2% to 3,013. The Straits Times increased 42 points or 1.5% at 2,674.

The Seoul Composite and the Taiwan Weighted Index are up over 0.5% each.
