Asian mkts end in green; Hang Seng surges 375pts

Asian markets continued its gain for a second day,as a positive report from the world's largest chipmaker Intel Corporation forecasted for increase in consumer demand globally.

The Hang Seng gained 376 points at 18,261.

The Nikkei ended flat at 9,269.

The Sanghai Composite and the Taiwan Weighted advanced 43 points and 99 points (1.5% each) to 3,188 and 6,739 respectively.

The Straits Times and the Seoul Composite added 54 points and 35 points to 2,364 and 6,738, respectively.

Asian markets have continued to gain today.

Japan's Nikkei pared early morning gains as investors became worried ahead of the earnings season. The Nikkei is flat at 9,261. The Hang Seng, however, has added 285 points (1.5%) to 18,171.

The Seoul Composite has surged 33 points (2.5%) to 1,419. The Straits Times and the Taiwan Weighted have gained 1.5% each at 2,349 and 6,739, respectively.

The Shanghai Composite has advanced 32 points (1%) to 3,178.

The Asian markets have today opened on a positive note.

The Hang Seng has advanced 157 points to 18,042.

The Nikkei has added 36 points at 9,298.

 

The Shanghai Composite is up four points at 3,167 and the Straits Times is flat at 2,333.

 

The Seoul Composite has increased 30 points (2%) to 1,415 and the Taiwan Weighted Index has moved up 19 points at 6,724.
