The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down three points at 13,841. The index had touched a high 13,912.
Tata Motors has surged 2.7% to Rs 866. Larsen & Toubro has rallied 2% to Rs 1,405.
Reliance Energy and Ranbaxy have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 548 and Rs 388, respectively.
TCS, Maruti, Gujarat Ambuja and SBI are up over 1% each to Rs 1,200, Rs 963, Rs 145 and Rs 1,374, respectively.
Satyam has dropped over 3% to Rs 452. Hero Honda and Wipro have slipped 1% each to Rs 763 and Rs 595, respectively.
The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,082 stocks traded so far, 1,384 have advanced, 655 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
