Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited, the leading private general insurance company is insuring the third test match of the series India-Sri Lanka test match at Ahmedabad.
The event is covered for fire and allied perils, event cancellation costs like rent of venue and match expenses, advertisement, loss of publicity, tickets and gate revenue, player's liability including personal accident on death and PTD for 16 players and public liability.
The total sum insured is Rs.12.7 crore and the cover has been taken by Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA).
Narhari Amin, president of Gujarat Cricket Association, said, "We have taken a decision to insure the match to protect ourselves financially. Bajaj Allianz had customised the coverage to suit our needs at optimum cost and hence we decided to give them the insurance mandate."
Kamesh Goyal, CEO, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, said, "With our increasing presence in Bollywood through event insurance, it is only natural for us to get involved with cricket."
