While talking to various school principals, Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal was impressing upon them the need to move away from learning by rote and to concentrate more on developing their potential. The best students, he said, were those that were never educated and that he wanted today’s students to be like that — to be geniuses. We hope the principals got Sibal’s point because it sounded like the HRD minister was advocating abolishing schools.
