Bharati Shipyard FY 08-09 Net Profit up 21% to Rs 130 cr

Highlights of Financial Results for period ended March 31, 2009

  • Total Turnover rises 45.49% to Rs 934.10 crore for April 2008 – March 2009 as against Rs.642.05crore for April – March 2008
  • Net Profit rises 21% to Rs. 130.03crore for March 2009 as compared to Rs. 107.45crore for the last year
  • The EBITDA increased 33.27% to Rs. 171.46crore for 2008-09 from Rs. 128.65 crore for 2007-08
  • The EPS for the current year Rs.47.17 (08-09) has increased by almost 9% as compared to last year Rs 43.41 (07-08)

Bharati Shipyard Limited, one of the leading Private Sector Shipyard in the country, has reported 21% per cent jump in Net Profit to Rs 130.03crore for 12-month period ending March 31, 2009 as compared to Rs. 107.45 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The Turnover for April – March 2009 increased 45.49 % to Rs 934.10crore as compared to Rs 642.05crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company reported 8.35% growth in Net profit for the January – March 2009 quarter to Rs 35.38crore as compared to Rs 32.65 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. The total turnover for the Jan- March 2009 quarter stood at Rs 284.27crore, an increase of 54.28% per cent as compared to Rs.184.25 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.

Commenting on the excellent performance, Mr. P. C. Kapoor, Managing Director, BSL, said: “The benefits of expanded capacities at Ratnagiri and Goa as also the timely and efficient execution of orders contributed to the stellar financial performance during the year.”

The EBITDA for the year increased 33.27% to Rs 171.46crore as against Rs 128.65crore for the previous year. The EPS for the year was Rs. 47.17, up 8.64% over last year EPS of Rs. 43.41.
