Former Union minister H R Bhardwaj, who had failed to make it to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s new Cabinet after the recent Lok Sabha elections, was today appointed as the new governor of Karnataka.
Bharadwaj, whose appointment was announced today by Rashtrapati Bhavan, would replace Rameshwar Thakur, who has been transferred to Madhya Pradesh.
To rehabilitate senior congress leaders who did not find berths in the cabinet formation by the PM Dr Manmohan singh, the appoinment of former cabinet Minister HR Bhardwaj as Karnataka Governor is a step in the right direction. Being a lawyer by profession and an experienced administrator, HR Bhardwaj will be a success as a Governor, Karnataka.
