BHEL bags Rs 2,600 cr order for Orissa power plant

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has secured an order for the main plant package for an upcoming thermal power project in Orissa , involving two new-rating units of 600 Mw each.
Valued at Rs 2,600 crore, the contract for the greenfield power project located at Derang in Orissa, was awarded to BHEL by Jindal India Thermal Power (JITPL).
BHEL’s scope of work in the present contract includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, along with associated auxiliaries and electricals, besides state-of-the-art controls & instrumentation and electrostatic precipitators.
BHEL recently secured a contract for a 600 Mw thermal power plant for Korba West Power Company in Chhattisgarh.
