BJP to expose 'misdeeds' of Naveen govt: Pujari
Press Trust of India / Bhubaneswar March 10, 2009, 12:32 IST

Declaring that its erstwhile coalition partner in Orissa, BJD, and the Congress are its prime enemies, the BJP has threatened to expose the "misdeeds" of the Naveen Patnaik government.

"Being part of the coalition we know the misdeeds of the Naveen government and have enough material against it, which would be made known during electioneering in phases," BJP state President Suresh Pujari told reporters here last night.

Dubbing BJD as "a great betrayer", Pujari said the party was talking to left parties and NCP on seat-sharing when its parleys with BJP were going on.

"We were aware that BJD was holding talks with other parties for past six months, but we remained silent hoping it will stick to coalition dharma," Pujari said.

He said that Patnaik could become the Chief Minister twice with BJP's support, but this time it would be "difficult" for him to retain power.

"The BJD could win the maximum number of Lok Sabha seats in 1998 and 1999 polls riding on the A B Vajpayee wave, but this time it is going to be a tough job for it," Pujari said.

Accusing BJD of "unilaterally" snapping the alliance to help the Congress, BJP leader B B Harichandan said people of Orissa would teach a lesson to Patnaik for "betraying" the people's mandate.

What Mr Pujari is telling that they were a partner in the misdeeds or were deliberately hiding the truth from the people of Orissa. In other words BJP is good in hiding the truth and therefore has two faces. One a beautiful like lotus and another an ugly one. Good that you are now giving more elaborate introduction of your party its character.

Three Questions to Mr Suresh Pujari, President BJP orissa Unit 1- Is breaking the coalition after the tenure of Assembly is a betrayal of people's mandate? 2- your party was elected to safeguard the interest of people of orissa. is coalition dharma more important compared to the interest of common oriyas? why you were silent when Mr Naveen was doing the so-called Misdeeds? 3- Is not it a fact that BJP the mere signboard party at orissa till late nineties used BJP to increase strength? do not you think that after Kandhamal riots (the handiwork of Sangha parivar) You not only became a burden for coalition but for the whole nation?

BJP has changed a lot in last one decade. It was a party of ideology at one point of time. It is now an opportunist organisation which thrives by dividing the society on communal lines. Their offshoot organisations will create problems and BJP will continue to deny their involement is their old policy which worked for sometime but is proving counter productive. their another trusted formula was to piggy ride on major regional parties and gradually make a place for themselves. Mamta, Jaya and Chandra Babu dumped them because the acts of vanadalism were proving costly to them from electrol point of view. How a thorough gentleman like Navin Patnaik lived in their company for eleven years is itself amazing. His dumping BJP was a natural act as he can not be a party of heinious crimes.
