While the BJP’s lone Muslim MP, Shahnawaz Hussain, has no love lost for Varun Gandhi, his youngest colleague in the 15th Lok Sabha, he does not mince words while criticising senior leader Balbir Punj, who was seen speaking in defence of Gandhi after his infamous hate speech in Pilibhit during the election campaign. Asked how he can have a working understanding with Varun in the House, Hussain quipped, “My job as president of the BJP’s minority morcha is to bring minorities closer to the party. About Varun’s job, only Balbir Punj can tell you.’’
