| Britannia FY09 net dips 14% at Rs 151 cr |

Britannia Industries today reported a 14.61 per cent dip in consolidated net profit at Rs 151.48 crore in the financial year ended March 31, 2009.
The company had a net profit of Rs 177.40 crore in the FY08, Britannia Industries said in a filing to the National Stock Exchange.
The consolidated net sales of the firm increased to Rs 3,421.23 crore in FY09, from Rs 2,776.90 crore in the last fiscal.
On a standalone basis, Britannia reported a net profit of Rs 180.40 crore for the fiscal ended March 31, while it had a net profit of Rs 191 crore in the previous year.
The net sales of the company rose to Rs 3,112.21 crore in fiscal 2009, from Rs 2,584.80 crore in the last fiscal.
The board has declared an interim dividend of Rs 40 a piece on shares of Rs 10 each for the financial year 2008-09.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 1,739.05, up 2.41 per cent from the previous close on the NSE.
