The state-run corporation introduced a Rs 549 plus service tax 'national voucher' under which its pre-paid Excel, Excel Anant and Saral Anant customers would be able to make free calls on BSNL network during the one month validity period of the voucher.     

On other networks, local calls by Excel customers would be charged at 40 paise per minute and STD calls at 50  paise per minute whereas for Excel Anant and Saral Anant customers, it will be 50 paise per minute and 60 paise per minute respectively.     

Addressing a press conference, S C Mishra, Chief General Manager, Bihar telecom circle, said customers using 'local voucher' of Rs 298 plus service tax will also get one month tariff validity.     
All calls made by Excel customers on BSNL network in Bihar and Jharkhand will be free whereas calls made on other networks will be charged at 40 paise per minute. For Excel Anant and Saral Anant the charge would be 50 paise per minute.

All STD calls on any of the networks will be charged at the rate of Re one per minute. Mishra also announced launch of a bundling scheme for Bihar circle under which four approved vendors — LG, Beetel, Benq and Digibee — will provide handsets with sim cards to new mobile customers through franchisee network at costs ranging from  Rs 1126 and 1831 depending upon models. The customers will get free talk time of Rs 100 per month for 15 months.
