U-21-G, CYBERSPACE
Click on campus

The Singapore-based online educational institute Universitas 21 Global (U-21-G) has launched a Master of Science in Tourism and Travel Management program in partnership with University of Nottingham.

Aimed at managers in the industry looking to upgrade their skills, the program will be conducted online. This, according to U-21-G chief Mukesh Aghi, assures “flexibility for executives who are unable to take up traditional university programs due to work and travel commitments.”

JUNCTION MBA, NEW DELHI
Ascent of man-age-ment

“The first three letters of the word management — MAN — denotes the importance of a human being. Therefore it is not structures and systems that make an organisation but individuals.”

Thus spake S. Mukherjee, an IIM-Kolkata professor of human resources (HR), at Junction MBA, which, being part of an exhibition held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, bore something of a campus atmosphere for the day.

SHU, SHEFFIELD
Wanted: brainware

Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), located in UK’s Peak District, wants to enrol Indian students for degrees-followed-by-jobs in applied information technology.

But the offer is being made by SHU’s strategic partner SNL Business Solutions, a consultancy set up by Vinod Khanna and Shamik Moitra. The “earn as you learn” program is portrayed as a career making package.

AMITY, NOIDA
Campus loyalty

Will elaborate educational campuses be seen as relics from the past? Not so soon. Campuses command considerable loyalty, as evident from the student voices of Amity Business School, which has just had its MBA program’s official recognition revoked by India’s AICTE.

They resist the thought of being shunted out to some other B-school, though the charm of the Noida campus is still a mystery. For understandable campus loyalty, however, visit Yale, Massachussetts. Architecture-wise, it’s not iconic in the sense you may think. But think, you will.
