Leaders of G-20 countries will meet again next year in Canada and then in South Korea to discuss ways to overcome the global economic crisis.
Canada will host the G-20 summit in Muskoka, close to Toronto, which will take place alongside the G-8 meeting slated for June 25 to 27, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced here.
A second summit will be held in Seoul in November 2010, Harper said at a joint press conference with the South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak on the sidelines of meeting of the G-20 Summit here.
"We agreed to have a G-20 Summit in Canada in June 2010, and in Korea in November 2010. We expect to meet annually thereafter, and will meet in France in 2011," the Leaders' Statement issued after the summit said.
"The G-20 process has proven critical to our collective response to the global recession," Harper said.
"We are in the midst of witnessing an important transformation in international architecture," Harper said.
The G-20 rotates its presidency and 2010 is South Korea's turn.
