Capita inaugurates its fifth centre in Bangalore
BS Reporter / Mumbai Sep 01, 2009, 17:31 IST

Capita India (Capita), the wholly owned subsidiary of the Capita Group Plc, UK’s largest business process outsourcing (BPO) Company, opened its fifth site in Bangalore at the Maruthi Infotech Park, Koramangla.

The operations at this new facility will commence with the AXA Sun Life contract, a new deal announced earlier this year. Capita became AXA’s strategic outsourcing partner for the administration of around 3.2 million of its life and pensions policies. As part of this contract, approximately 250 staff in Bangalore and another 300 in Pune will commence operations from Capita facilities from today.

In addition, later this year, Capita India will commence operations to provide administration support for the “Protection” product of the Pearl Group with a team of approximately 100 staff from its Bangalore office.

Sanjay Razdan, Managing Director of Capita India, said "The new Bangalore office provides us with operational resilience, head room for growth and access to the high quality local talent pool.  We are the largest outsourced life and pensions services provider for the UK market from India. These new contracts help deepen our domain expertise and strengthen our position in the market."

Other than the Bangalore office (which is the fifth operations center for Capita in India), Capita’s has four centres in Mumbai. These sites support a number of Capita Group clients including mutual funds, insurance companies, other financial services companies and local government in the UK. Capita India’s current headcount is approximately 3,550 which is nearly 10 per cent of the Group’s total.
