| Carlson Group launches business hotel in Ahmedabad |

The US-based Carlson Group, in collaboration with Rising Hotels and Country Development & Management Services (CDMS), today launched a three-star business hotel, Country Inn & Suites, in Ahmedabad. The Carlson Group-managed 68-room hotel has been set up with an investment of Rs 25 crore.
“Country Inn & Suites is a value-for-money hotel, which will cater to the growing business community in this region. In the next 10 years, we would spread our footprint across the country,” said Rajan Bhattacharya, managing director of CDMS, the master franchisee for the Carlson Group in India. Apart from Country Inn & Suites, hospitality developer Rising Hotels is also developing a 124-room premium category hotel, Radisson, for the Carlson Group.
Country Inn & Suites is the Carlson Group's first in the country's western region. Globally, it manages over 1,000 hotels, including 450 Country Inn & Suites brand. Last year, the group registered a turnover of around $4 billion.
“While we have invested around Rs 25 crore for Country Inn & Suites, the investment details for Radisson are yet to be ascertained,” said Kamal Galani, director of Rising Hotels. It is also developing Country Inn & Suites hotels in New Delhi, Chennai, Gurgaon and Amritsar. “We will be developing six more hotels in the country in the current calendar year,” added Galani.
Priced at an average of Rs 6,000-7,000 per room, the property features a banquet hall and a 24-hour multi-cuisine restaurant.
