After pocketing Fem Care Pharma, a 12-member Dabur team including Chief Executive Officer Sunil Duggal and other senior managers flew out from Delhi to wrap up the deal in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. As luck would have it, six members of the team checked into the Taj and the rest made their way to the Trident, with plans to stay there for a week.
On Wednesday night, the management team decided to hop out to a fancy suburban restaurant in south Mumbai and celebrate the acquisition. It was 8.30 pm and the team settled down to dine.
But as they moved from main course to dessert, some members of the management received frantic calls about unrest in the city. As hours passed, the Dabur team figured that the hotels where they had checked in were under siege and decided to seek refuge at the company guest house. The entire team flew back in batches by afternoon today.
