The Reserve Bank has established a central database management system (CDBMS), an enterprise wide data warehouse, built around an integrated repository of current and historical data which serves as a state-of-the-art decision support system within RBI.
The system is web-based and has been available for access and analysis to users in RBI since December 2002.
It is proposed to place the relevant data in CDBMS in public domain for the convenience of researchers and other users.
Accordingly, an Expert Group is being constituted to guide this process, particularly through an assessment of user requirements. It is expected that these data would become available on-line by end-June 2004.
