B K Birla Group-controlled Century Textiles today reported a 15.35 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 236.54 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2009.

The firm had a net profit of Rs 279.43 crore in FY'08, Century Textiles said in a filing to the BSE.     

The total income rose 11 per cent to Rs 3,884.85 crore at the end of FY'09, from Rs 3,512.74 crore in the year-ago period.     

The board has declared a dividend of 45 per cent at the rate of Rs 4.50 a share, on shares of face value of Rs 10, for FY'09.     

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 250.80, up 9.04 per cent on the BSE.
