At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chilli for delivery in March rose by Rs 88, or 1.69%, to Rs 5,306 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,245 lots.
February chilli gained Rs 52, or 1%, to Rs 5,240 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,205 lots.
Market experts said besides fresh buying by traders, restricted arrivals from producing region mainly helped chilli prices to trade higher at futures market.
